Dogs Working For A Tennis Tournament

What we are about to tell you happened in Brazil and the protagonists are little dogs who worked in a tennis tournament.

The big idea: dogs working in a tennis tournament

Mel, Frida, Costela and Isabelle are four mixed breed dogs who have lived on the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil for a long time. After a long time they finally found protectors, the Association for the Welfare of Animals Amici di Celia, which saved them and welcomed them to its facilities.

They looked for someone to adopt them, but we all know that sadly most people want puppies and possibly purebred. They don’t know what they’re missing!

For this,  the association had to think of an idea to help these dogs find a family. And they succeeded. They thought of a show, one with a lot of audience and during which the dogs could be seen by many people. Who knows, maybe someone would have fallen in love with them.

However, they also thought, “What if dogs do something they’ve never seen before?” It would have been great! Nobody could have resisted the charm and charisma of these little dogs.

But what show, show or event could have helped them? The tennis match between two great athletes: Roberto Garbelles and Gastao Elías.

Half of the work was already done, all that remained was to think about what the animals could do to surprise the public.

Do you need a ball catcher?

What is a dog’s favorite activity? Running after a ball! And if the dog is as obedient as our tournament friends, he brings her back too. Just what you need during a tennis match.

And so it was. They talked to tennis players and organizers and… hired! The dogs were allowed to help during the match and show off their skills at the same time.

The tennis match begins

The dogs have been training for months to be able to do the great work done during the tournament. They left everyone speechless. They didn’t even miss a ball, the field was always free.

Even the tennis players were enchanted by it. Garballes said: “It was a lot of fun to see them there, they picked up the balls in a very funny way and also it was for a good cause.”

So funny that even the tennis players sometimes purposely threw them to watch them retrieve them. People cheered more for the dogs that picked up the balls than for the tennis players when they hit them.

There is no doubt that they were the stars of the tennis tournament.

The goal of the NGO that promoted the initiative was to push the adoption of stray dogs and raise awareness of abandonment.

This story teaches that any dog ​​can be loving, intelligent and a good guardian and, for those in need, a perfect ball catcher too.

It is sad to think that even in the world of animals we let ourselves be influenced by appearances, preferring to pay hundreds of euros for a “magazine” dog and collaborating in the mistreatment they suffer in animal farms, instead of preferring to adopt a brave little dog. affectionate and loyal who needs it despite not having a pedigree.

What matters is what’s in the heart, and even though all dogs have good hearts, never forget that an abandoned dog will show you a lot of gratitude if you give them a home to live in.
