A Place To Have Coffee, Chat And Adopt A Dog

A place to have coffee, chat and adopt a dog

Have you ever heard of facilities where you can have a coffee, chat and, at the same time, adopt a dog?

In California there is already one of these places to chat and adopt

There is a new restaurant in Los Angeles, California, which has revolutionized the idea of the adoption of animals. For those who love animals and can’t resist the temptation to have a good coffee, this is the ideal place.

The Dog Coffee is located in Los Angeles, California and offers a totally new experience to those who visit it. While having a coffee and chatting, the patrons of this place can interact with the animals. In doing so, they can check which one is best suited to their tastes or preferences, and understand who you have the most chemistry with.

These dogs all have a history of neglect behind them. They have been rescued, brought to this venue and waiting for a home where they can finally stay forever.

How did the idea come about?

The idea comes from a woman named Sarah Wolfanng, originally from Pensylvania. The woman lived for 16 years in South Korea and has always worked in animal shelters. His commitment to finding a home for those who were not adopted in those places was the driving force behind the creation of this innovative venue.

It’s about making humans and dogs have a good time together. Introduce them to and play in a relaxed environment, without the pressure that, for example, exists in an animal shelter. Dogs and people who drink coffee can see each other, get to know each other and, finally, choose each other.

But there is not only the option of taking one of these dogs home and adopting it. All people who love to be with dogs and interact with them, but cannot keep one at home for whatever reason, have the opportunity to have physical contact with the dogs that are in this center.

These structures arrive in Europe

Following this North American example, the so-called “Cat-coffees” are also arriving in Europe. The idea is that people who wish can have a coffee surrounded by cats, read the newspaper or connect to the Wi-Fi network while enjoying the company of the kittens. Of course it is also possible to adopt one of these animals and take it home with you.

An example is the “Gatoteca” in Madrid, where lovers of good coffee share time with very special companions: cats. The director of the facility explains: “This place is the first cat-café in Spain, a café where cats enjoy the same freedom they would have at home”.

What to do in the Gatoteca? While enjoying a delicious coffee, you can collaborate and feed the cats, or read a great book with one of these cute felines on your lap. If you want to entertain yourself on the Internet, you can use the Wi-Fi network of the structure always in the company of your cat friends.

A Japanese origin

The so-called “cat-cafes” are not new. In Taiwan, Taipei was the first city to open one of these facilities where it was possible to interact with cats and relax.

In another Japanese city, in Osaka, another “cat-café” was opened in 2004. Since then, this place has been designed for cat lovers who do not have enough time or space in the house to take care or adopt a cat.

This café is a true paradise for cats but also for patrons, who have the opportunity to pet, feed and play with the cats that live there.

Other cities cat-cafes

This brilliant idea has spread all over the world. Several cities, including Tokyo, London, Budapest, Vienna and Paris (in 2013 a new “Le café des chats” opened in Paris) are gradually joining this movement of cat-friendly clubs.

For all people who do not have enough time or space in the house to live with a cat of their own, these rooms are the best option. There they will be able to play, feed the kittens and enjoy the affection they offer. This is an excellent option for relieving the stress and anxiety of work.
